Testimonials

We worked with Jon, where he captured drone footage of our boats and waterfront operation. His work was consistently sharp, well-composed, and delivered with a high level of professionalism.

Jon is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and easy to work with — all critical traits when flying over water and active marine operations. He understood our brand, took direction well, and delivered footage that elevated our marketing content immediately.

I would confidently recommend Jon and Vantage Point to any business looking for high-quality aerial imagery with a reliable, professional operator behind the controls. Mel - Sunset Divers Grand Cayman Manager

FAQs

  1. Do I need to hire a fully qualified and legal commercial drone operator?

Yes — in the UK, any paid/professional drone work is considered commercial and must follow strict Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) rules. We hold a valid Operator ID & appropriate remote pilot qualifications, and any required Operational Authorisation for higher-risk or closer-to-people flights.

  2. Can the drone operator fly anywhere I want (e.g. near uninvolved buildings, large gatherings of people, or restricted areas)?

No — UK rules limit flights: e.g. height max 120m, visual line of sight, 50m distance from uninvolved people/buildings depending on drone class and 150m from large gatherings of people. Restricted zones exist near airports, prisons. We will advise on feasibility, obtain permissions if needed, and never break rules for a job.

  3. What happens if the weather is bad on the day?

Drones cannot fly safely in strong wind (our drones can safely fly in winds up to 20–25 mph), rain or poor visibility. We offer free rescheduling if requested a minimum of 24 hours before the job. We check forecasts in advance and stay in close contact with you to discuss whether you'd like to proceed with the job if the weather looks less than ideal.

  4. What information do I need to provide to get an accurate quote?

Key details: exact location(s), date(s), type of work (photo/video/survey/etc.), required deliverables (resolution, editing level), any access restrictions, people/structures nearby, and any deadlines. The more detail, the better the quote. We will review these questions with you as part of our pre-survey meeting.

  5. What is usually included in the price?

Our quotes cover: pilot time, drone operation, basic capture (photos/videos), travel within a set radius (one hour travel time), and basic editing. Extras like advanced editing, or rush delivery cost more. Clarify deliverables (e.g. RAW files vs. graded footage) upfront.
